What we collect

We only collect personal data you choose to give us, plus a small amount your browser provides automatically:

• Enquiry details. When you contact us by email or phone, we hold the information you provide: your name, company, contact details and the details of your project.
• Technical data. Our web host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) to keep the site secure and running.

The enquiry email composer uses the information you enter only to prepare a draft in your own email application. The website does not transmit or store what you type. We receive it only if you choose to send the resulting email.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use your enquiry details to reply to you, prepare technical responses and quotes, and carry out any work you go on to commission. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and running our business, and, where you become a customer, the performance of our contract with you. Technical data is processed for our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for marketing. We use trusted service providers to run our business — for example our email and web hosting providers — who process data on our behalf under appropriate agreements. We may disclose information where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for our legitimate business and legal record-keeping, after which it is deleted. Server logs are kept only for a short period.

Cookies

This website does not set tracking or advertising cookies. Site images are served with the website; our web host may process standard technical logs as described above. If we add analytics or other cookies in future, we will update this policy and ask for consent where required.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and, in some cases, to receive it in a portable form. To make a request, email info@garendon.engineering. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, though we would ask you to raise any concern with us first.
